Deleted the link after it became broken due to deletion of thread. I don't like to keep unusable links. lol
Nothing really to see tbh, just the intro and 8 people asking questions about it and joining the game.
Re: Chat thread!
Silly. You should have kept the post, not the links!
So you made your own puzzles then? How about different rooms/doors?

I kept the startup post though. I can find it in a bit and post it here---If I can locate it in my my sea of forum game ideas and creation. And yep I made a few of my puzzles added to with along with other popular hard puzzles that was based of other creations.

Re: Chat thread!
Hmm, GM still has to make random puzzles then.
I was thinking of simple concept that can be understood easily. Werewolf for example: unorganized majority versus organized minority. The majority should hunt down minority with little knowledge and lives of innocents at stake. With that concept alone, game can still run, but we can add our own flavors if we want.
Solving puzzles from one stage to another is fun, but GM has to prepare many things. Not worth the efforts really, besides GM' chance to make blunder is higher.
But well, do you mind to compile them?
Maybe it will give me one-two ideas..
Edit: Woot, thanks.

Isn't collecting points the mechanism from the sequel?

Re: Chat thread!
Its actually a simple concept to make the puzzles for me. Just the difficulties of the actual puzzle is unknown to me once I see people trying to solve it with the given information. lol
Don't Remember if the points is from the sequel or not. I never really played the game myself much. As I got to try it in the beginning as a friend showed me it and challenged who can make the better game version based on the series---usually in a forum game like mechanics since we lack the require items and skills to make an actual game. We both planned to become video-game designers, so we like to find games and use its game mechanics to make our own.
You met him before though, he was Silent Silver in the ninja saga forums.

Re: Chat thread!
Oh GEEZ. But that was you who used that account, lol
(You did say it was your friend' account though).
I skim read the sequel; and yeah, collecting points is the main goal, so maybe just coincidence.
You never played until you reach the true ending then? There is something in that ending that makes me awe. I don't want to take that out of the forum adaptation.
I guess I have to look for someone who have played the entire game. No spoiler!

I don't recalled using his account. He used my laptop to post. Maybe you got it backwards. lol
Re: Chat thread!
You missed all the fun of figuring out the real antagonist! How could you! <.<
Don't Open if You Haven't Played 999
Don't Open if You Haven't Played 999
- Don't Open if You Haven't Played 999:
- Well, the whole point of the game is that all of nine actually can pass through the last door, but they thought they couldn't (so they thought they must murder someone). So Zero wasn't really 'evil' if you put it that way. He just put them in the system. It's them who choose to throw away morality.
So yeah, I want to create dilemma when choosing which door to pass. Forcing you to be alone and work with with someone who seems suspicious. Maybe similar dilemma when casting lynch vote or sending kill request in TWG.
I think trivia/puzzle marathon will distract players from this morality dilemma.

Re: Chat thread!
- Spoiler:
- I actually figured there was a way for them all to escape. It would of been the perfect plot twist for a true ending scenario. Tbh, the FG version I made has a possible solution for everyone to escape if they do things in a certain manor with who gains or loses points. Which was made like that before seeing the true ending myself though.
Now now, Everyone makes typos. Though I made more just to annoy the Grammar Nazis types. Which I don't often do much anymore due to its not as amusing as it was before. Guess it just gotten bit old trolling people like that.
Re: Chat thread!
I had the same idea of Colmo, having two GM...
I can help myself, i read the spoiler....
It wasn't the big shocking reveal that i was expecting, lol....
in fact, if the game is hosted in forum, we should create our brand original final, that will be more interesting to see, and players reading spoilers will still get surprised

Really? You never came across as annoying person to meDragonEye wrote:Now now, Everyone makes typos. Though I made more just to annoy the Grammar Nazis types. Which I don't often do much anymore due to its not as amusing as it was before. Guess it just gotten bit old trolling people like that.
Maybe it's not as fun before since you
Anyways.. you both left same impression to me, hence why I thought you both are actually one person, lol
I figured someone would still open the spoiler, so I keep it free from most vital spoilerrhaidot wrote:It wasn't the big shocking reveal that i was expecting, lol....

Well, the premise of trust x betray is actually common. It has been done in TWG as we know it, and Liar Game too (it's a manga; for those who don't know), only in different form perhaps. That 999 game has heavy reference to digit "nine", nonary numerical system and other math jibberish that I honestly don't get (lol). However if you take it out of math context, nonary system is still pretty interesting (I can't explain it here), so I want to keep the concept like that.
Also, I don't mean the plot will be the same.
Lets put it this way. In visual novels, the author will invent the plot, alternative plots; basically everything. In TWG, GM doesn't invent the plot, he doesn't decide who will die. Players do. They create their own plot, GM just keeps notes of all events.
I plan to adapt 999 in similar manner as TWG, not adapting the whole plot/twist.
What I wrote in spoiler only clarifies that the game isn't solely about escape from death (betray in order to survive). That's the premise I want to build.
It can be original on its own by, for example, assigning certain roles to players and give them optional ending (encouraging them to work individually). Since different person has their own style, each game will always be unique (just like TWG/RTD).
The problem is to build the core concept, not the tidy bits. I still can't figure that out. For example, how to put players in different "rooms". Referring them to different forum means audience can't enjoy the show from original thread. It's hard for GM to keep track too. You need to bookmark several links, etc.

Btw I'll play around with theme, so please don't be surprised.
If the theme doesn't work, we can always restore the previous theme (I hope), lol

Re: Chat thread!
I feel excited already thinking in playing your version of Nonary
Had you checked my Ultimate Slayer - A Solo RPG Text Adventure? It plays around with the concept of bad ending and special ending. Very different from TWG, but it may help you (in a collateral way) to complete some ideas. Also, if you need help or collaboration to GMing the game, I offer my humble service
