Persona Another Story: REWORK
STORY: (to be updated as the game progresses)
You are a 2nd year transfer student in a Japanese School. The school forgot to assign you a dorm so you must sleep at the school clinic for tonight. However, as the clocks strikes 12 and the full moon rises, a dark phenomenon occured. The school turns into a labyrinth. You gain a power called Persona and battled enemies called Shadows. You were rescued by a mysterious girl called Yukari, a member of SEES. She asks you to join her club, but it looks like you fell into a trap.
WIN CONDITIONS:
1. Be the last player standing.

UPDATES: As soon as someone posted and I haz the time. I'll warn anyone if they hasn't posted. After a third warning they'll miss their turn and their char will sleep the whole update (Yes, even in battle, and sleep+battle=death).
Mechanism:
1. Anyone that wants to play can post here, PM me here or at Facebook.
2. You will receive a series of questions. And after answering all, you will receive your Persona.
3. There is no such thing as level. Aptitude points are earned when you do something impressive or accomplished something.
4. There is death in this game. What game is thrilling when you can't loss? xD
Stats:
The six basic stats are Strength, Dexterity, Skill, Constitution, Fortitude and Willpower. Int and luck not included since that is on the player's side.
Damage calculations will be following, damage=(strength/dex + weapon damage) - ((fortitude +armor)*elemental resistance modifier)
Skill is the success rate one can distribute to his actions: i.e. a person with a skill of 200% can two actions with both having a success rate of 100%, or four actions with success rate of 50%, or 1 with 100% and 2 with 50%.
Willpower/mp is an important resource in the game. It is used in activating abilities. But be careful though, as depleting one's willpower grants a debuff, its severity depending on how much willpower is overused. Willpower regenerates at an undecided yet rate.
Stat Aptitude system:
Stats all start at an initial number.
Aptitude refers to how much a stat can grow each update. Every update, each stat will grow by a number between 1 and 1+AP. i.e. 10 str + 5AP, next update it will increase by a numberer between 1 and 6 (1+5AP).
Every stat have an initial aptitude point of 1.
For HP and MP, its between 2 and 2+(2xAP).
For Skill its between 10% and 10+(10xAP).
Not sure if I'll make any changes here
Attack Types, Elements and Weapons:
There are two attack types: Melee and ranged
There are 6 elements: Fire, Ice, Wind, Electricity, Light and Darkness
Each person has their respective affinity elements, natural attack type resistance and weakness elements/attack. For balance purposes, the number of attack types/elements one has resistance to is equal to the number of it is weak against.
Ex. If I haz affinity to ice and electricity then I will have a weakness against two types, which can be pierce and fire, or wind and darkness.
Weapons will have one of the 8 as its type.
Weapons also have two stats, attack and hit rate.
There is also the 9th type which is Almighty, which can be easily explained as True damage, or damage that ignores defense.

First Night ~ A Dream and a Voice

You guys met each other, and even though you came from different schools, somehow, you knew each other one way or another. And as you fell asleep, each of you dreamt a nightmare, and a voice ringed inside..

As you try to feel around you, the footsteps keep coming closer and you hear a familliar whimper beside you.
It was your sister. Then you realize where you were.
In the closet, the day your family died. And as he opened up the closet door, everything froze. But somehow, you can move freely. You moved around, surveying the room. You see your parents body, eyes open and body drenched in blood. You remember the helplessness you felt, and it became the rage that swells inside you.
Then a voice ringed inside,
"Kill the man, save your sister, choose your weapon"

Everything is dark. You feel the rain pouring down on you. Then a lighting struck and revealed your surroundings. You are in front of your house, holding a suitcase.
Its the day you left your home, the last time you were a human.
As you remember the reason why you left, a van stops behind you and a group of men comes out. It is the group of men that kidnapped you. As the men tried to reach you, everything froze, even the raindrops. You remembered the experiments through flashbacks. The slow transformation, the abuse and the pain that accompanied it.
Then a voice ringed inside,
Kill them, save yourself before its too late. What will you use?

Its the day you were nearly beaten to a pulp.
As he delivers the last blow, everything froze, but somehow you can move around. You looked around you, however the two of you are the only ones there. You remembered your mother crying beside you in the hospital. The rage pents up as you look at the boy with his raised clenched fist.
Then a voice ringed inside,
Kill him or knock him out, save yourself. What will you use?

Everything is dark. The rain falls down on you. You are on a cool nighttime stroll when the rain suddenly came. As you run back home, you noticed a girl your age standing outside a mansion gate. She seems to be staring at the mansion. Then suddenly a van stops behind her. A group of men come out and begin subduing her. Then everything froze, but somehow you can move.
You remembered the days you felt helpless, reading a newspaper of a family murder near your house, witnessing a boy getting beating to a pulp and also seeing a boy crying over his brother. You decided this was not the day you were gonna be helpless again.
Then a voice ringed inside,

Everything is dark. The nighttime wind chills a little. A train passes nearby. You and your brother are walking home from watching a movie. As you are nearing home, a man with a gun suddenly comes out of an alley and demands your brother for money.
It is the day you lose him.
The man forces you into the alley, but as he pushes your brother, you see the opportunity and run away. The man notices you, shouts and points the gun at you. Your brother wrestles the man for the gun. Then suddenly everything froze. You remembered what was gonna happen. Your brother will get shot.
A voice suddenly ringed inside,
Kill him. Save your brother. What will you use?

I wield the thing that first comes to mind, a kunai, I quickly slashingthrough the people threatening my sister, strengthening my resolve, and to kill anyone as long as I save my imouto.

I will gain this weapon. TYPE: DRAGON BLADE
I will slice through the foes, careful around where she is subdued to keep her alive and well. After finishing the thugs, I will toss them out of the vehicle and kill the driver by throwing him out, then slicing his neck.
I'll take the vehicle and have her safe in the passenger seat, and make my way to a safe location, keeping my eyes on the lookout for the unknown.
When everything resumes, I will tell her she is safe, and that I saved her.
Ask who she is, where she came from, how old she is, etc.
Get to know her and tell her about me.

- Shisou Nanaya:
As the kunai slits the man's throat, you felt happiness (?).
The man's body plumps slowly down. You watched over it like it was the best thing you ever did.
You glanced over to your sister, but instead of her, you see a glob of darkness, with red eyes, growing bigger and bigger, then it suddenly attacks you.
You woke up suddenly. A simple kunai is in your hands. You also have a sidebag that seems to have more kunai. You don't remember having these things.
You hear a whimper in the darkness, you went closer to see it and you find Damian Love shaking in his sleep. On closer inspection, a shadow seems to grow from his chest, a dark figure slowly forms. What will you do?

- The men cower and shouts in fear as you claw them down, one by one.
Then you noticed somebody watching from afar. He melts and slowly turns into a dark glob. It is getting bigger and bigger, then suddenly engulfs you.
You wake up suddenly to a face of a 17 year old brown haired girl.
"Finally you're awake," the girl says.
"What are you doing here? You are not supposed to be be here."
"And..... what's with your ears??"
The girl is holding a bow, and wearing what seems to be the school uniform.
She found out about your neko-ears. What will you do?

- You punched the bully and knocked him out. However, the darkness haven't rescinded yet. You two are still alone in pure darkness.
Then the bully suddenly stood up facing away from you. His head snapped backwards, and is looking at you with red dark eyes. His whole body turns into a black humanoid glob. He charges at you.....
but you somehow dodged to the side and tripped him.
He rolls over and over and slams face first into the wall.
He recovers somewhat and looks at you with bloodthirsty eyes.
A voice ringed from afar, "I'm sorry master, I know you don't want to hurt people. But this is not the time for that. This isn't a human, this is a shadow. Destroy him before its too late!!!"
A mysterious voice appeared suddenly, will you trust it??

- You remember slashing them up and down, using the sheath as a shield whenever possible. You look over their dead/unconscious bodies and feel proud to be able to take them down.
You remembered the girl. You ran to the van and tried to open the door. But as you opened it, a dark glob engulf you.
You suddenly woke up with a headache. You notice you are holding a simple sword in your right hand, and a blue plain sheath in your left. You don't remember ever having these, but you ignored it as you have a kewl weapon.
You notice a black glob nearby. It seems to be wearing a purple mask. What will you do?

I-I-I (Embarrassed) Don't know...~Nya (Even More Embarrassed) I-I j-just can't help it purr say... I-I mean- I just can't help the the feeling to act and more more of a cat. ~Nya. (Extremely Embarrassed) Hrm.... Mew, this is just purrfectly horrible... ~Nya (Hides my ears under the hat quickly and quickly look away from her eyes...)

I will trust the voice, and I will try to summon the power of the wind to increase my speed and my fighting power, in my path there are not weapons, I will break the bones of my enemies with my own fist!

I will summon the Will of Kagutsuchi, empower myself, and take on the Black Glob. Unleash fire on it. Create a fire barrier around him and then engulf him in flames.
As for the Maze..
Visualize my position and mentally note where i'm going, keep my eyes open for any useful equipment or artifacts/clues to how to finish this maze.
See if anyone else is here and join them to complete this faster and work together.

Try to wake Damian in any way possible, if the shadow tries to attack me, retaliate by slashing with the kunai without hurting Damian.
If the situation is that I couldn't wake Damian and the shadow is not doing anything, try to wait it out and observe the surroundings for a bit. If nothing still happens, destroy the shadow prolly.

Buff yourselves/try to summon persona(for those who hasn't summoned theirs yet)
Btw, pm is permitted as long as these two conditions are fulfilled
1. They are together in the game.
2. The GM is also in the chat.
- Shisou Nanaya:
Shisou tried to poke Damian repeatedly with a twig, but Damian refuses to move. (Where the twig came, I do not know) He also tried slapping him repeatedly in the face with no avail. With no choice left, he decided to stab Damian's ......behind, with the kunai. As he raised the kunai, the shadow suddenly growls and snaps at him. rolling.... Shisou barely dodges and prepares his kunai. The shadow takes a form of a shark.
The battle begins...
Shisou used Slash attack!! rolling...
Melee attack probability + small weapon + dex - enemy dex +/- enemy size
Critical hit! rolling...
(weapon damage + str - enemy con) * critical multiplier
5 damage!
Enemy seems to be hurt! However, Shisou noticed that there is two of them. The one Shisou damaged was an ink clone!
Enemy used Bite! rolling...
melee atttack probability + medium weapon + dex - Shisou dex - Shisou dodge
Shisou dodged with a large margin!
"Seems like this is gonna be a tough battle," Shisou thought.
Then the shadow shark bellowed loudly and backs down, the ink clone dissapears. The link between him and Damian disconnects.
Damian Love wakes up, stretches his arms and rubs his stomach.
"Woah, that was a nasty dream," he says.
Shisou shouts at him, "Baka, it's not over yet!" Just as he finished his sentence, the sharks lunges at Damian. Damian panics and closes his eyes.
Shisou watches in awe as ink flows around Damian and knocks the shark down.
Shisou sees the opportunity and kills the shadow with one last slash. The shadow dissipates. Damian opens his eyes and says, "is it over? what happened?"

The first shadow slain, a comrade saved(?). What will you do next? And what was that ink? that shadow? what happened to the school? a lot of questions arose, though you probably know some of the answers.

The girl ignores you and just looks away. "You are probably one of the unlucky ones."
She begins to walk away, and just says "Come with me if you want to live."
Also, your half-neko awakens and you began to track. You catch a whiff of a familiar smell towards the direction the girl is going.
The girl seems to be indifferent. Will you join her? And she seems to know something about you. What will you do about it?

The humanoid shadows dissipates. And Damian wakes up. Yawning and looking around, he sees Shisou. Shisou suddenly shouts, "Baka! It's not over yet!" Then Damian realizes a shark is coming towards him! Out of panic, he closes his eyes.
All he hears is a loud sound of the shark falling to the ground. He opens his eyes and sees Shisou deliver the killing blow to the shark. Damian asks, "What happened?", though Shisou just shrugged and says "Let's get out of here."
A weird event. The first shadow destroyed. Saved by a comrade. The voice seems to have disappeared. what happened to the school? a lot of questions arose. What will you do now?

Xavier tries to summon Kagutsuchi and orders him to summon fire.
A summon shouts angrily inside his head.
"I don't know how to control fire because you don't know how to make pots fool!!" event chance rolling... success!

A flashback of painful memories begins to form inside Xavier's head. As this happens Kagutsuchi emerges from Xavier's head starts to cast Weapon Magic.
Xavier's sword begins emanating fire.
"Be thankful young boy."
The masked glob begins to attack.

Xavier emerged victorious and cheered out a war cry. He puts his sword, now extinguished, into the sheath. However, he assumed too early, a crowd of Faithless Maya is slowly advancing on him. He hears a sound of something falling down in the other direction.
What will you do? Fight till the death? or retreat now and live another day? and go towards the mysterious loud noise? so many question marks? why so many? does someone knows? who knows?
On the serious side, what will you do now?

Calm myself down and try to rethink the situation where in. It's obviously far from the reality I'm used to. Once I've calmed myself down, prepare myself for any situation that we are gonna be getting at. Try to focus and release a power inside of me (my persona). If I'm able to summon Ninken, try to communicate with my persona and ask for its power since we're gonna be partners. If I'm not able to summon Ninken, prepare myself using my ninja skillz. Proceed to boss with The Lovers-kun.

Damian answers, "Sorry, I'm just trying to summon the power of the wind. A voice told me in a dream that I must learn how to sing first before he can control the wind, so that's why I'm practicing."
"But you sing so bad, man...." Shisou states while they are entering a large room, to which Damian responds to by going to a corner, sulking and repeatedly saying, "I'm a bad singer. I'm a bad singer."
Shisou just says, "What a drag. That why I hate being around people too much." But something that Damian said stuck to him. "A voice huh?" Shisou thought. He remembers a voice that spoke to him while he was also dreaming. "Maybe I should try communicating with mine too." He calms himself down and tries to rethink the situation where he is in. "It's obviously far from the reality I'm used to."
"Even though you're a ninja? What a fool.", a voice inside him ringed.
"Who are you?"
"You know who I am."
"Can you lend me your power?"
To this the Egyptian wolf smirks and says, "Be careful what you wish for, boy."
Shisou heads suddenly hurts. Flashbacks of his family being murdered flowed in his head. Ninken emerged from his head and began casting Invisibility magic. Slowly, Shisou limbs became invisible, then his torso then his head, just in as a big shadow arrived.
This shadow comprised only of limbs. It has 4 legs and 5 arms, the arms each holding a sword except for the fifth one, which is holding a blue mask.
It seems to be looking around, not noticing Shisou because he is invisible, but it notices Damian who is still sulking at the corner. It charges at Damian to which Shisou notices this and attacks the shadow from behind. He lands behind the mask and begins slicing at it. rolling...
Automatic hit! rolling...
1 damage!
"That didn't seem to inflict much damage." Shisou thought, as the shadow turns towards him. "But at least it took his attention away from Damian."
"Hey fool! Wake up!" Shisou shouted at Damian, to which Damian hears and stands up. "What's happening? And what is that thing!?!" Shisou responds, "I don't know, just attack it!" Damian nods and then started clutching his head in pain, then a dolphin suddenly emerges from his head and started casting Wind Control. rolling..

Damian succeeded in summoning the power of the wind, but it seems it is still weak.
The shadow moves his limbs frantically like it is showing his anger. He points the mask at Damian and begins casting Fire Control. rolling..

Damian is hurt!
1 more turn for the shadow!
It used Slash attack against Shisou. rolling...
Shisou barely dodged!!! Looks like the enemy has a high dex and Shisou was just lucky.
Faced against a strong enemy, the two of you isn't enough. But alas, you hear footsteps coming towards your direction. Is it allies, or more enemies? And what will you do against the seemingly strong boss?
Event results: Stealth + 1
Discovered persona power: Invisibility magic - turns anyone invisible; ignored by/ automatic hit against enemy without powers against invisibility.

Call out my persona to cast Invisibility magic to both of us, if it can't be cast to both of us prioritize The Lovers-kun. Try to fend off any fire attacks from The Lovers-kun. Try to avoid the attacks of the enemy, and wait for those things where the footsteps come from. When dodging, if possible retaliate with a slash attack.

Well, it didn't do much....but wait!!! One of the arms falls down!
The shadow shrieks in pain, and the blue mask glares at him. It begins casting fire control but then...
Shisou notices that Damian is weak against fire, so he tries to turn him invisible.
Painful memories, accompanied by a searing headache, and Ninken appears again and starts to casting Invisibility magic. rolling....
Hit!
Damian became invisible. This confuses the shadow and searches for Damian all around the place.
Suddenly, Natasha comes out from one of the hallways and with feline agility, jumps above, performs a somersault and reaches for the mask. The shadow won't let go though, and swings Natasha around and around. Natasha comments, "Help mew. Natasha is getting dizzy. Nya~~~" The mask arm suddenly jerks and throws Natasha away, to which Xavier catches her heroically and coolly says, "Leave this to me, madam." Then he *insert action here*
Then Shisou notices a young girl coming out of the same hallway that Natasha came from. This girl has short brown hair, wearing the a pink sweater over the school uniform and holding a bow. The girl sighs, facepalms and comments,
"What carnival did I arrived to?" She then shows her steely resolve and pulls out a gun, "Don't summon your Persona too much without an Evoker, it's too dangerous." She then pointed the gun at her head, to which Damian dramatically responds, "NOOOOOOOOO!" Damian didn't arrive in time and the girl pulls the trigger, to which a persona, which looks like a human head atop a mechanical body, emerges from his head.
"This is my persona, Orpheus," the brown haired girl proudly states. However, the girl begins to clutch her head in pain, falls to one knee, then another persona, this time looking like a officer, holding a sword and surrounded by metal coffins, emerges from the girls head and rips Orpheus apart. The new Persona, which somehow Shisou knows by the name Thanatos, charges at the shadow and kills it with one slash. The persona disappears, to which the brown haired girl comments,
"That wasn't supposed to happen." Damian rushes to her side asking, "Are you alright?" The girl pushes him away and says, "Yeah. I'm fine."
She stands straight and introduces herself, "I'm Yukari Takeba, a senior at this school, the Gekkoukan High School and currently the club leader of Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, also known as SEES. We aim to eradicate the existence known as Shadows and stop the occurrence of Dark Hour. The Dark Hour is the hidden hour between the days and it is when the shadow appears. The school turns into Tartarus, the source of the shadows. Normal people transmogrify and unconsciously turn into coffins in order to protect themselves, but shadows somehow lure them outside the coffins and then suck the energy from them, resulting to the human losing consciousness and turning them into lifeless husk. The only ones who are capable of stopping them are us, those who have the potential to summon Personas. So I invite you to join SEES, and help us eradicate the shadows."

Accept the deal to join SEES under the condition that I can leave wherever I want. In case that there is some kind of contract or that they say that I can't leave wherever I want, then I will make a deal with them that if I am able to became the best Persona User, I will have the right (only one time) to make any Persona User leave SEES.
If anything of this doesn't happen, then I will not join SEES.

"Mew is not a hero nor a villain, so what ever this greater good or evil this might applies, does not purr-erest (Interest) me at all. The only thing I can see, that this is a combat group for those mew shadow things. But, I'll join if there is a way for me to at least help the others in a supportive manor. (Ex. Healer, Buffer, De-buffer, etc) Also, I can leave when-ever I can without anything else effecting me other-wise.
